(Above) VINEYARD SPRAY RECOVERY UNIT
The SRU can catch up to 70% of spray chemical which would normally go into the ground or the atmosphere, and pump it back to the spray tank for recycling. (some users have reported 90% recovery when foliage is light)
SRU USES -:
- Control of over wintering bud mite and rust mite population
- Ideal for pre bud-burst, Canola oil, Dormex, Path-x, early Sulphur sprays and Socusil snail repellant sprays.
- The unit is normally used for approximately the first six sprays of the season before the foliage thickens up.
SRU ADVANTAGES -:
- Envelopes the vine crown and cordon for superior saturation.
- Operator safety is improved by minimizing chemical drift.
- Adjoining properties have much less drift imposed on them.
- Saves expensive chemicals by only using what wets the vine, the rest is recycled back to the tank and re used.
- Saves on refilling time and chemical refilling time.
- Can be used in mildly windy conditions.
- Is kind to the environment by stopping most of the spray from contacting the ground or escaping into the air.
Construction is two tough polypropylene catching trays with 250mm long bristle skirting mounted around their edges. Drop frames are Galvanized steel and top frames are powder coated steel. The drop frames have spring loaded mounting in case of contact with a post.
Electric pumps are mounted in the two chemical catching trays to pump the free liquid back to the main tank for re use.
The eight spray jets, which are fed through a large capacity filter, are fully adjustable for position, and direction.
The unit is mounted at the front of the tractor on a mast or fork lift attachment or front end loader, and requires a spray tank and pump to be mounted at the back of the tractor.
The Unit comes with all hoses, fittings and wiring needed for connection.
(Above) Bud & Weed Sprayer
The Bud and Weed Sprayer is a shielded sprayer for weeds in the vine row and suckers.
Some comments from users-
“It can be used to disbud the vines from the crown down and takes one third of the time of doing it manually.”
"We use it to control the weeds growing under the vines. We've got drip irrigation, so we get a healthy crop of weeds. The great benefit of the unit is that the spray is enclosed so it doesn't burn the foliage.”
"While it's zipping along doing the weeds, it's also zipping along burning off any buds sticking out at ground level, which saves having to do it again later."
